Suitable for complete beginners. This workshop will last up to 2-hours, and you will create a mug or cup using hand-building slab technique.*
If there is time, you will have the opportunity to decorate the item in the workshop, using mark-making tools and, subject to attendees' paces, underglaze colours, creating a unique, functional item for use.
If colours are not used on the day, then you can pick one of our beautiful studio glazes for the item to be glazed in.
Class size: A maximum of 14 participants. A minimum of 3 participants is required for the session to run. If there are not 3 participants booked a few days before the class, you will be offered an alternative class date or a refund.
Location: Wellington Yard, L15 4JH
Further information about where to find the studio will be shared in the week before your class.
Other info:
- Ceramics can be surprisingly physical. You will need a reasonable amount of dexterity in your hands, as well as good grip strength. If you have any questions or uncertainties about this, please get in touch before booking.
- Workshops are for ages 14+, although I'm working on options for the younger creatives! Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
- The studio can be cold in cooler weather. There are heaters but please dress accordingly.
- Studio glazes included. Once glazed and fired after your final session, items will be available to collect from the workshop location. This usually takes 2 weeks but await an email from me with further information.
- Finished items will be kept for 14 days and disposed of if not collected. This is due to having limited space within the studio, with my own and students' work added at all times.
- Once a workshop has been purchased, I will email you in the week prior to the session with additional information.
- Whilst every care is taken during the drying and firing process, we cannot guarantee against occasional cracking, breakage, or faults that may naturally occur with handmade pottery.
- Photography & Recording
You're welcome to take a few quick photos or short video clips of your own work for personal use or social media, provided it doesn't disrupt the class or capture other participants without their permission.
To protect the learning experience and everyone's privacy, recording substantial parts of a class, audio recording, livestreaming, or using wearable recording devices (including Meta smart glasses) is not permitted without prior permission from RMo Studio.
A refund policy applies. Please view and familiarise yourself with refund and cancellation information at www.rmostudio.com/workshops/studiorefundpolicy
*Hand-building is making an item without the use of a pottery wheel. If you are interested in using a pottery wheel, I offer workshops on this too!
