This 6-week course is designed for those who have completed our 6-week beginners’ course (or a beginners’ course elsewhere) and would like to continue developing their practice with taught guidance.
Over the 6 weeks, there is no fixed lesson plan. Expect a relaxed, supportive atmosphere with plenty of time for experimentation. You are free to use all studio equipment, including the pottery wheels, slab roller and moulds. There are 5 pottery wheels available, plus ample hand-building space.
With continued practice and support, you’ll build confidence, refine your skills and progress in your pottery journey.
This course is not suitable for complete beginners. If you’re new to ceramics, consider our Wednesday or Thursday evening 6-week Introduction to Pottery course.
How It Works

• Arrive at 3:00pm → finish at 5:00pm
• Arrive at 4:00pm → finish at 6:00pm
• Arrive at 5:30pm → finish at 7:30pm
When booking, please indicate your preferred start time. I encourage you to keep to the same time each week for consistency, although changes can be accommodated with notice.

Additional Information
Ceramics can be surprisingly physical. A reasonable level of hand dexterity and grip strength is required. If you have any concerns, please get in touch before booking.
Ages 16+. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
The studio is on a light industrial site, and therefore some noise is to be expected from neighbouring units during weekday hours before 5pm.
The studio can be cold in cooler weather. Heaters are provided, but please dress warmly.
Studio glazes are included. Work will be glazed and fired after your final session and will be ready to collect approximately 2 weeks later. Please wait for a confirmation email before collecting.
Finished items will be kept for 14 days after notification, after which they will be disposed of due to limited storage space.
Once your course is booked, you will receive an email in the week prior to the start date with further information.
