Studio Access - Independent Pottery Practice (not taught)

Studio Access sessions are designed for potters who want time and space to work independently on their own projects.

Who Studio Access Is For

Studio Access is available to:

  • Students who have completed our 6-week Introduction to Pottery course

  • Those who have attended a 1-1 throwing workshop

  • Those who have completed at least two of our other courses

If you are an intermediate or advanced potter, or have taken beginner lessons elsewhere, you are also welcome - please contact me before booking.

A studio induction is required for all users and, if new to the studio, an informal assessment of experience may be needed to ensure you are confident using materials, tools, and equipment safely.

Session Details & Pricing

  • £30 for 2.5 hours

  • Packages of 10 sessions (25 hours) and 20 sessions (50 hours) also available to book with a discount applied.

  • Sessions must be booked as a 2.5-hour block, not split across a couple of days or the week.

  • Additional time can be added at £10 per hour. This can be used at any time on the same day.

  • Maximum 8 participants per session

  • Currently 5 pottery wheels available, with plenty of space for hand-building and decorating

What’s Included

  • Use of pottery wheels, hand-building space, tools, and glazing facilities

  • All studio tools, studio glazes (12+), and regular kiln firings. Kiln is always operated by studio owner

  • Stoneware clay for personal practice and development by hobbyist and improver potters. There is no fixed weight limit per session; however, use is subject to a reasonable fair-use policy in the context of shared studio access.

  • Additional clay available to purchase at supplier price

Support & Teaching

These are not taught sessions and there is no formal lesson plan.

I will be present in the studio and happy to offer occasional advice. However, if it becomes clear that you require ongoing teaching or significant support, an additional charge will apply. Studio Access is intended for independent practice.
